I Was at the Library over twenty years ago in Ardmore, OK to check out the book sale they were having to rid themselves of their
older books, magazines, record albums and such. I found a bundle of ten past issues of "Home Health" a Readers Digest sized
publication for a mere cost of 25 cents.

In one of the magazines was an article written by a Science Teacher from Ohio (I think) telling about his discovery of how Clear
Ammonia will prevent poison ivy / oak. He makes a diluted solution of nine parts water and one part Clear Ammonia (also know as
Non-Sudsing Ammonia) in a spray bottle and sprays himself and his students with this solution when his class goes on a field trip
into the woods to gather insects and plants for their Science projects. This solution neutralizes the oils in the poison ivy / oak and
keeps you getting an itchy rash.

I also discovered that when I didn't use the solution and a rash had appeared, I used the Ammonia full strength on a cotton ball
several times a day and this cut way down on the itching and the poison ivy / oak was gone in a matter of a few days rather than
over a week of misery.

This worked so well I wondered what else it was good for, this is what I found out experimenting: On one of our family vacations I
packed a bottle of Clear Ammonia to take along since we were going to be camping out and hiking a lot during the month we were
traveling to Canada and back to Oklahoma. We stopped off at Little Big Horn to see where Custer fought his last battle, while
listening to a presentation by one of the park rangers one of the largest ants I ever saw dropped off the celling and stung my son
on the back of his hand. I took him to the van and got the Clear Ammonia and (thinking it stops itching why not stinging) put
some on the ant sting and he stopped crying immediately.

I have used Clear Ammonia (full strength) on Fire Ant bites and when treated immediately after the fire ant bite they stop stinging
and itching and those little fester bumps will not appear. But don't wait to use the Clear Ammonia the faster you treat the bites
the less effect they will have on you.

I have also discovered Clear Ammonia (full strength) will lessen the effects of a bee or wasp sting, I found I need several
applications because the stinging comes back and I need to apply more to stop the stinging again. The swelling will also be greatly
reduced.
